What is an electric fireplace?
An electric fireplace is the modern, clean and cool version of the traditional fireplace that burns coal, wood, or natural gas. They can be plugged into a wall, included as part of a mantel combination, or inserted into a conventional fireplace that can no longer be used for actual fires. They can be heat-free (cool huh?) or be used as a heater to heat a room up to 400-1000 square feet big. Not only are they functional, but beautiful and stylish as well. 
Why buy an electric fireplace?
Electric fireplaces offer several distinct advantages over their traditional counterparts. Most notably, no cleanup, no emissions and no need to replenish logs. Since most units can be operated with or without heat they are able to provide year round ambiance. Electric fireplaces offer cheap efficient heating, as low as 8-12 cents per hour. How will my electric fireplace arrive?
Many orders will ship same day, all other orders will ship within 2 - 5 business days. Transit times will vary based on location, but delivery can typically be expected within 2 - 5 business days. If abnormal shipping delays are expected we will notify you.
How do I assemble my electric fireplace? 
Most units will require some very basic assembly using no more than a standard philips head screwdriver. All units ship with the necessary instruction manuals. 
When will I be charged for my electric fireplace?
When you place an order we immediately check stock with our manufacturers. Once we confirm availability we complete the payment process. We recommend saving a copy of your order confirmation for your records.
When will my order be shipped?
Many orders will ship same day, all other orders typically ship within 2 - 5 business days.
Will my order be tracked?
Of course! When your order is shipped, a notification email will be sent to the email we have on file. This email will include a tracking number that will allow you to determine the delivery status of your order. If for some reason you don't receive your tracking info please email us at support@themodernfireplace.com
Do I have to be home to receive my order?
Smaller items shipped via FedEx, UPS or USPS can generally be left at your door. Larger items however will ship via freight carrier and must be signed for on delivery. The freight carrier will contact you at least 24hrs in advance to arrange a delivery time.
What if my electric fireplace is damaged during shipping?
Great care will be taken to ensure your item arrives undamaged. However, in the unlikely event damage does occur please contact us within 24hrs at support@themodernfireplace.com to file a damage claim. Freight items should be inspected carefully and any damage noted on the bill of lading by the customer. Please report the damage to us. If the freight shipment is significantly damaged please note "damaged - refused" on the bill of lading and contact us with regards to re-shipment. Bills of lading that are signed clear and without damage are often denied. 
What is your return policy?
If you are unsatisfied with your purchase and would like to return your item please contact us within 14 days at returns@themodernfireplace.com. The item must be returned in original packaging and in re-sellable condition. All return shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer. Sometimes a restocking fee may apply. All refunds will be applied to the original payment method on file.
